Positive Change.

5 ways I plan to make positive change.

  1. Restore open, inclusive decision-making and community trust.

  2. Bring back community involvement that fosters unity rather than division.

  3. Prioritize proficiency for student academic and social and well-being.

  4. Be fair, responsible, and clear about finances, without letting politics influence decisions.

  5. Innovate and modernize while preserving their unique community spirit.

PRIORITIES

1. LBHS and LBUSD facilities plan reset:

Bottom up neighborhood consultation and community collaboration instead of top down decision making imperative to begin renewed LBHS and LBUSD facilities planning.

2. Superintendent Performance Review:

As allowed under state law (Brown Act), the Board should review the performance of the current Superintendent in an open session with community participation, given the significant authority delegated to staff.

3. Board Bylaw Revision Project:

Restore protocols faithful to public civics standards in state education and government codes, repeal restraints on civil rights of Board members, parents, students and public adopted without adequate review or justification.

4. Inclusive Sports Program:

Expand the range of sports offered in LBUSD to give students more opportunities to participate and find their passion. For example, why shouldn’t public schools support skate boarding as Olympic sport with Laguna origins?
